The Story Behind The Name

TYFFI Home was born from a simple intention: to help others shape a home that reflects their story. An intention woven into our name itself...

TYFFI comes from two Welsh words:

·    Tŷ meaning home

·    Fi meaning me

Together, it simply means “my home.” Our name is straightforward and heartfelt, just like the personal spaces we live in and love, where family gathers and memories quietly take root.

Our Origin 

The “FFI” in our name is also a nod to our co-founder, Ffion, who passionately leads the sourcing and direction of the brand. Ffion brings her background in fine art and years spent travelling, alongside experience working closely with interior designers. Ffi has a natural talent for noticing texture and tone, and for finding that perfect balance between timeless character and modern simplicity. She sees spaces as living compositions, ones that evolve over time, just as we do.

My background is quite different. It's rooted in English literature and teaching. I've always been drawn to words, meaning and the deeper ways we connect with each other. Much like writing, the way we select and style pieces in our home is a form of self-expression; a quiet reflection of who we are and what we love.

Together, we are two cousins connected in our shared passion and vision. Inspired by travel and our deepest values, we now dedicate ourselves to crafting meaningful spaces, nurturing personal connections and creating homes that feel alive. 

 

Why We Curate Slowly

At TYFFI, we believe homes are built over time.  That’s why:

-      We source in small batches.

-       We look for authentic pieces with depth and story.

-       We say no to anything that doesn’t feel right.

We are lovers of natural materials. We hand-select pieces that carry the spirit of heirlooms, and we're drawn to those pieces with story and soul. The weird, the wonderful, the wobbly - the ones that make your guests ask, "where on Earth did you find that?"
